What is UPL?

UPL was a game maker that once existed. Founded in 1972. Initially, it was established as “Universal Play Land,” a subsidiary of the game development company Universal Co., Ltd. In 1984, it changed its name to UPL, released numerous softwares, but went bankrupt in 1992. The characteristic of its works is the high difficulty level, regardless of the game genre.
They released softwares for Family Computer, MEGA DRIVE, PC Engine, etc., and after bankruptcy, the rights were transferred to another game company, Hamster.
Ah~! Hamster! I remember! We've introduced it in an article before, haven't we?
