What is IGS?

IGS was once a game maker.
The exact founding date is unknown, but it entered the gaming industry around 1989.
The company name is an abbreviation for “Information Global Service”.
In 1989, it debuted in the gaming industry with the Family Computer game “Super Mole Whacker Pokkun Mogler”, which was compatible with a special mat.
Afterwards, not only did it continue with software development, but it also developed the “Battle Box”, a peripheral that could save game data for some of its NES games, and was active in the peripheral business.
It gradually reduced its operations and withdrew from the gaming industry after its last software release in 1993.
It seems they primarily released games for the NES, PC Engine, and Mega Drive. Truly a lineup of classic, indeed retro, masterpieces!
