Disney Interactive Studios, Inc. is a division of The Walt Disney Company, responsible for developing and selling software and video games. The company was established quite some time ago in 1988 as Walt Disney Computer Software, and it began by releasing educational software and game software for PCs, spreading the charm of Disney characters in the digital world.

Initially, Disney Interactive Studios engaged in the licensing business for the rights to make games featuring Disney characters for home game consoles. Later, the company gradually downsized, and in May 2016, Disney Interactive Studios ceased the continuation of the Disney Infinity business and withdrew from its own publishing operations. As a result, they transitioned to a licensing model worldwide, entrusting other development studios with the creation of games featuring Disney characters.

As of 2016, most of the studios have disbanded. With this move, Disney has stepped back from in-house game development, focusing more on collaborations with other companies through licensing.
