Hello everyone. I'm Boss from Retro Video Game Republic, and I actually don't own a WiiU.

Hello everyone! I'm Saori from Retro Video Game Republic. I used to have a Wii, but I don't own a WiiU.

This site is called Retro Video Game Republic, so the charm is being able to buy retro games. But the WiiU is a relatively recent console, so it doesn't feel that retro, does it?

That's true. I go over to friends' houses to play it sometimes, so it definitely feels like a more recent console!

What is WiiU?

WiiU is a game that represents the 2010s, developed by Nintendo Co., Ltd.
WiiU is a home gaming console released by Nintendo Co., Ltd. in 2012. It features a “GamePad”—a controller with a touchscreen—and was released as a home console type of hardware that can be played either solo or with multiple people using various Wii remotes.
It boasted decent audio quality and video output, but it had a history of lacking sufficient software for the first six months after its release.
The name 'WiiU' originates from the words 'We' and 'You.' The preceding console, the Wii, got its name from the concept that 'everyone can enjoy.' Similarly, the name WiiU aims to evolve this concept further, indicating a console that 'more people, including myself, can enjoy and be satisfied with.'

You can see the beginnings of the current Switch from around this time, can't you?

That's right! It really feels like a legitimate evolution before the birth of the Switch. There are quite a few memorable games on the WiiU (even though I don't own it) that are interesting, aren't they?
●Speaking of WiiU's masterpieces and memorable games, which ones do you own?
