In the world of gaming, there are countless companies, but you may have heard the name âFOG Inc.â Today, we'll take a conversational look at the charm and characteristics of this former game development company, once located in Machida, Tokyo.
FOG was founded in late 1996 by a passionate game creator named Noriyuki Munekiyo. After gaining experience at Namco and Imax, he launched FOG to pursue his own vision. The company's name stands for âFull On Games,â symbolizing a deep passion for gaming. You can really feel the enthusiasm in that name, can't you?
FOG became known for its achievements in the adventure game genre. One year after its founding, they released *Bishoujo Hanafuda Kikou: Michinoku Hitou Koimonogatari*, which attracted attention for its unique theme. The following year, they launched *Kuon no Kizuna (Eternal Bond)*, a title that grew in popularity through word of mouth and even saw sequels released on various platforms. These successes helped FOG establish a unique position in the world of adventure games.
FOG's growth was strongly supported by its collaboration with Nippon Ichi Software. The founders of both companies had a long-standing connection, and they worked together on games like *Michinoku Hitou Koimonogatari* and *Kuon no Kizuna*. By the late 2000s, FOG also took on a subcontracting role for Nippon Ichi, co-releasing many adventure games together.
In July 2016, FOG became a subsidiary of Nippon Ichi Software, further strengthening their collaboration. However, on December 7, 2021, FOG was officially dissolved. Despite this, FOG's spirit and creative soul live on, now as a brand under Nippon Ichi Software.
