【RayForce】Currently Inactive? Here is the Game Lineup from RayForce, the Company That Launched Games on Platforms Like PC-FX in the 1990s!
Have you heard of the game company “RayForce”? It was a legendary presence in the Japanese gaming scene, shining brightly with its unique contributions. Established in 1992, RayForce produced numerous unique titles, especially for platforms like the PC Engine and PC-FX. Let’s dive into the charm of RayForce!
RayForce’s flagship series is undoubtedly “Startling Odyssey.” This series first debuted on the PC Engine in 1993, captivating fans with its fantasy elements and intricate storyline. The sequel, “Startling Odyssey 2: Battle with the Demon Dragon,” presented an even grander narrative, earning enthusiastic support from many players. It was rare at the time to see such a well-crafted RPG on home consoles, and the unique world-building of the series is still talked about to this day.
In the late 1990s, RayForce ventured into the new platform, PC-FX. One of the titles from this period was “Miracleum: The Last Revelation.” Although released by NEC Home Electronics, RayForce developed this title. Utilizing the PC-FX's hardware capabilities, the game was praised for its innovative visuals and unique gameplay system, leaving a special impression on gamers of that era.
RayForce also collaborated with other companies on ports of popular series. “The White Witch - Another Legend of Heroes” was the Sega Saturn port of Falcom’s classic RPG “The Legend of Heroes III.” Although it was published by Hudson, RayForce handled the development. This port retained the charm of the original while appealing to new fans with unique features, gaining support from many players.
After 2010, RayForce’s official website was shut down, and their whereabouts remain unknown. It’s presumed that the company has either ceased operations or is in a dormant state. However, despite their short operational period, some of RayForce's games still linger in the hearts of fans. The fact that their works are still remembered speaks to the passion and care they put into their games, which have transcended time and continue to be loved.
The games developed by RayForce were innovative in terms of world-building, storytelling, and gameplay experience, despite the limited technology of the time. Each of their titles left a special memory for players, going beyond just being games. If you haven’t experienced their works yet, we encourage you to discover their charm.
