The behind-the-scenes of games can be hard to see, right? But in fact, when you find yourself thinking “I love this world” or “This logo is cool!”, there’s often a presentation professional behind it. This time, we’re introducing Taki Koubou (Taki Corporation), a “wizard of expression”!

Taki Koubou was founded back in 1960. From the Showa era through Heisei to Reiwa, it has remained at the forefront of Japan’s advertising and design industry. With over 60 years of accumulated experience and achievements—doesn’t that alone make it a company worthy of trust?

You might think, “Isn’t it just an ad agency?”, but Taki Koubou’s scope is incredibly wide! They cover not just graphics, but also website creation, corporate and product branding, UI/UX development, and even CI/VI (systems to maintain consistency in corporate logos and visuals). They’re a professional group of communication designers who seriously consider, “What’s the best way to convey what needs to be conveyed?”

In 2021, a major organizational restructure took place. Six group companies—Taki Koubou, Work Up Taki, Blanc, FOCUS, Taki iC, and the administrative Shared Services division—were integrated and relaunched as Taki Corporation. By uniting specialized teams, they established a structure that allows for faster and higher-quality service delivery.

As of March 2023, the company has 366 employees. Each individual is passionate about “communicating” and uses design as a weapon to create new value in the world. Their scale and teamwork resemble an elite guild in a large-scale RPG. It’s because so many diverse skills and personalities intersect that ideas and sensibilities are constantly being refined.

By the way, doesn’t the word “Koubou” (workshop) have a somewhat familiar, friendly ring to it? It carries nuances of “handmade” and “attention to detail,” perfectly symbolizing Taki Koubou’s work ethic. No matter how large the project, they put their heart into each one, handling them with care and passion—that attitude brings the messages of brands and companies to life.

They don’t directly develop games, but they’re very likely involved in expressions that convey the game world, like logos, packaging, and teaser sites! There’s always behind-the-scenes power behind visuals that make you think “That’s cool” or “That catches my eye.” And one of those forces is Taki Koubou.
