If you've ever been hooked on otome games, chances are you've unknowingly played a title from “Asgard.”
Asgard Co., Ltd.—that name is now nothing short of legendary.
Once a subsidiary of Aeria, this renowned studio produced numerous female-oriented titles.
From 1997 to 2019, their history was nothing short of dramatic.
On December 1, 1997, Asgard was born in Nagoya, initially established as a “limited company.”
As part of the Will Group, it eventually grew into a central player in content production.
Back then, “content for women” had not yet gained the mainstream recognition it enjoys today.
Still, they consistently gave form to the dreams of “maidens.”
Asgard's signature title is undoubtedly “Otometeki Koi Kakumei★Love Revo”!!
Since its debut in 2006, the game has been a hot topic among otome game fans.
Featuring a slightly chubby heroine as the protagonist was quite a bold move at the time.
But that made it feel more real—and you couldn’t help but root for her.
Also a big hit was the “Sleepytime Sheep” situation CD series, where sweet nothings are whispered in your ear.
Asgard deserves credit for creating that soothing world built solely around “voice.”
What made Asgard truly impressive was how it clearly differentiated the personality of each label.
honeybee, Planpeace, BlackButterfly, BOOST ON...... each had its own theme and distinct world.
For fans, it was like visiting different theme parks—each offering its own unique fun.
They also expanded into the console market with titles like the PS2-exclusive “Love Root Zero KissKiss☆Labyrinth,” showing a broad range of activity.
They were proactive in participating in events and running online shops—often becoming the center of attention at Comic Market.
In 2015, Asgard became a wholly owned subsidiary of Aeria.
Later, some of its business was transferred to Arithmetic, and in January 2019, an era quietly came to an end.
While the company Asgard no longer exists, the characters and stories it created still live on in many people's hearts.
As a fan, remembering “that one beloved title” still warms the heart.
Isn’t that something truly special?
Asgard may no longer be a “company.”
But the passion and dreams that once resided there were undeniably real.
That kind of existence is something you can’t help but admire.
A treasure trove of retro otome games! Here’s ASGARD’s software lineup!
