“Yggdra Kingdom.” For those who are not yet familiar with this work, I highly recommend you stand at the entrance of this story. It all begins when a high school student named Towa Nagai, who gets lost in London during his school trip, finds a mysterious egg inside a train station. The moment the egg cracks, his consciousness fades, and when he comes to, he finds himself in a different world called “Royal Capital Salem,” which somehow resembles London. Isn't this a little exciting? An ordinary boy suddenly finds himself thrown into the middle of an extraordinary situation. What's more, his encounter with a girl named Shelley, who is searching for her father, a man accused of regicide, greatly moves his destiny.
The noteworthy points of this game are its visual beauty and its solid action gameplay. The illustrations are by the popular illustrator Hiro Suzuhira. They are incredibly delicate and charming, and even a single facial expression of a character seems to ooze with emotion, appealing to the player's heart beyond being just a “drawing.” And in the action part, the “Dragon Armor [Clarias]” that Eiha wears plays a huge role. The exhilarating attack motions, speedy progression, and thrilling battles are perfectly balanced with the adventure part to keep you from getting bored.
“Yggdra Kingdom” is amazing not only for its story. It's also equipped with a mode that specializes in action elements, separate from the main story. It's perfect for when you want to take a break from the story or when you simply want to enjoy the action. What's more, this mode holds a significant number of replay elements, greatly expanding character growth and tactical options. If you feel yourself thinking, “Oh, I'm hooked......”, you'll probably find there's no turning back.
The depth of this work lies in the fact that it doesn't just end with a simple isekai transfer. The reason Eiha fights isn't just “to return to his original world.” It's his pure desire to help the girl who helped him. And as he fights, the secrets of the world are gradually revealed. As the story progresses, a question will surely arise within you: “Were his choices the right ones?” By playing and confronting that weight, you will realize that this game is not just an action-adventure but a story that will stay with you.
