It is not mere nostalgia, but a challenge to revive “that coffee shop world” once again through modern sensibilities. The setting is “Brick Mall,” a large-scale commercial facility full of atmosphere with a medieval European motif. There, a single coffee shop was about to make a fresh start — “Famille.” Having been forced to close once due to a fire, the protagonist Hitoshi struggles to relight the lamp in this very place.

The story does not end with simply rebuilding the shop. The return of his comrades does not go smoothly, and as Hitoshi wavers between hope and reality, he is confronted by “curio,” a powerful rival shop that suddenly appears directly across from them. Surprisingly, its concept completely overlaps with Famille's. Furthermore, the fact that curio was the “original” comes to light, forcing Hitoshi and his friends to face the harsh reality of standing up against them as a literal “late-coming copy.” In the midst of this, a girl named Yui appears seeking a part-time job. Her straightforward smile and her voice, which mysteriously puts people's hearts at ease, breathe fresh air into Famille.

Under the reckless slogan “Defeat Curio!”, Hitoshi begins days of challenges along with his staff. The reality reflected in the numbers — trying to beat a rival in sales — is severe and not easily achieved. However, the essence of this game lies not in winning or losing such a competition, but in the preciousness of “working with all your heart.” Each character has a background and troubles, and their respective lives intersect through the place known as Famille. By witnessing these interactions, players can feel as though they too have become a member of the coffee shop.

In this remake, the graphics have been significantly overhauled, with character expressions, outfits, and even event CG redrawn to modern standards. With the Switch support, it's a joy to be able to experience this warm story more easily anywhere.
