[New Otome Game] A highly anticipated dark fantasy otome game! That summer, a young girl witnesses a “terrifying miracle” on a resort island......!? LicoBiTs brand's “Le Mirage Mystique” has been confirmed for release!

In the otome game genre, there are many titles that push glamorous romance and sweet atmospheres to the forefront. However, “Le Mirage Mystique” is a bit different right from the entrance. First, the stage is set on Mirage Island, a “resort island that everyone in the world yearns for.” While it sounds like a dream story at this point, the narrative instantly shifts the tone with the ominous phrase “terrifying miracle.” A tropical paradise, a glittering aura, and a special invitation—all of these serve, in fact, to heighten the eeriness. This contrast makes for a highly intriguing experience.

Indispensable to discussing this game's charm is its historical setting of 1917. Because it is not the modern era, the entire story carries an atmosphere akin to being shrouded in a unique fog. It was a time when communication and travel were not as free as they are today, information was limited, and people were drawn to the “unknown” even while fearing it. Within that context, the coveted Mirage Island takes on a mystique that goes beyond a mere tourist destination. As you play, you naturally start to feel that “there is something here.” Moreover, the appeal lies in how this sensation functions not as simple occultism, but as a “romance unique to an older era.”
The protagonist, Aria Laprade, is a perfectly ordinary girl. An invitation to Mirage Island suddenly arrives at her doorstep. Looking only at this development, it seems like the start of a fairy tale, but the game depicts this “good fortune” with a sense of underlying peril. Why was she invited? Who summoned her, and for what purpose? These questions hover faintly from the very beginning, naturally conveying that this will not be a simple resort vacation. Consequently, players will constantly harbor anxiety even while taking in the beautiful scenery.
What is particularly fascinating about this title is that it treats “miracles” as something terrifying. Normally, the word miracle evokes images of salvation or hope. In “Le Mirage Mystique,” however, the very ring of the word is unsettling. In other words, something beyond human understanding is occurring on this island—and it by no means brings only happiness. This “coexistence of beauty and terror” makes the game's atmosphere remarkably unique.
Despite being an otome game, this work possesses the gripping pull of a mystery. Whom should you trust? What is the true nature of the strange incidents happening on the island? And how far into the truth can Aria herself step? Paradoxically, the more romantic feelings blossom, the stronger the anxiety becomes. While wanting to know the other person, the doubt of “can I really trust this individual?” never disappears. This tension gives a unique depth to the sense of distance between you and the characters.
Playing the game, you get the sense that Mirage Island itself is depicted as one massive entity. Rather than being just a backdrop, it feels as if the island itself possesses a will. The beautiful ocean, the captivating air, and the fantastical landscapes that draw people in—yet behind it all lies an unfathomable secret. This feeling of “being unable to settle down despite being in paradise” is masterfully crafted. While spellbound by the island, players simultaneously begin to harbor the emotion that “I must not stay here long.”
