ARUZE was a game maker that once existed.
Originally founded in 1969 as 'Universal Lease Co., Ltd.', the company initially engaged in selling jukeboxes, which were popular at the time.
In 1971, the company name was changed to 'Universal Co., Ltd.' and started entering the arcade game development and sales business. Later, they focused on developing pachislot and casino machines, changing the name to 'ARUZE' in 1998. They resumed arcade game development and also entered the consumer game market.
In 2009, the name was changed to 'Universal Entertainment Corporation', which now primarily focuses on the pachinko business.
It seems more like a pachislot maker that at one point developed game software rather than originally being a game maker.
