What is WonderSwan?

WonderSwan is a handheld gaming console released by BANDAI CO., LTD.
It was released in 1999, followed by the color screen version, WonderSwan Color, in 2000 and the SwanCrystal with a TFT LCD replacing the STN LCD in 2002.
It has an internal memory where you can record personal information such as name, date of birth, and blood type. The recorded name will be displayed upon startup.
You can also hold the device vertically to play vertical screen games. The battery level and other information are displayed on the screen for easy visibility.
The console was affordable and had a long battery life. It was developed by a toy manufacturer, so software for Mobile Suit Gundam, Digimon, and other franchises were released, leading to strong sales.
