All Hell Breaks Loose When It Comes to Money! Comically Play as You Make Money Off the Dead in Hell! The Push-Down RPG, goHELLgo Tsukiotoshiteko, is Now Available!
The moment you play this game, your image of “Hell = a terrifying place” will be overturned. goHELLgo Tsukiotoshiteko is a work with a unique flavor: its look is pop, its content is cynical, yet it somehow strikes a chord in your heart. The protagonist is an Oni named Yatsushiro, who runs a cleaning business in Hell. While enduring what seems like a black company's daily grind, his life in Hell takes a dramatic turn when he meets a girl named Tomori one day. A turbulent story begins here, where his quest goes beyond simply guiding the dead, getting him wrapped up in the very structure of Hell itself.
It's impossible to categorize this game in a single phrase. You're drawn in by the appeal of its characters, akin to a Bishojo game, you get immersed in the combat and enhancement elements of an RPG, and you're even required to manage business goals like in a management simulation...... Truly, a new style called the “Push-Down RPG” has been established. The thoroughly dark premise of earning money by sending the dead to various facilities in Hell is cleverly neutralized by the fast-paced, laugh-out-loud scenario and the somehow lovable characters. You'll find yourself captivated by this mysterious sense of balance: it's dark yet cheerful, irreverent yet charming.
The centerpiece of this game is, of course, the “girls.” The amazing thing is how every character has such a strong personality, yet all of them somehow appear attractive. The lineup is like an “Idol Group of Hell,” including the hungry newcomer “Tomori,” the elite who gives off a vibe of being the capable childhood friend, the innocent and wild little one, the robot girl with an intense presence, and the dangerous yet endearing dry-witted girl. Especially noteworthy is the character design by Tetsubuta. The soft lines and sensual depictions are exquisite, making the designs not just “cute” but “captivating.”
The game progresses by gradually advancing the story as you handle daily tasks—collecting the dead and defeating monsters—while achieving the company's management goals. A “Day” format of time management is introduced, where the count increases each day, allowing you to feel the excitement of wondering “What kind of day will today be?” every time you play. The combat itself is fast-paced, and while the idea of cleaning = battle is amusing, the strategic depth is not to be underestimated. The daily routine of Hell, repeated almost every day, becomes a strangely endearing part of the player's life.
What's amazing about this game is that it doesn't just stop at having cute girls. Before you know it, you'll find yourself empathizing with, rooting for, and perhaps even aspiring to be the protagonist, “Yatsushiro.” Despite being an Oni, he's oddly human, prone to making skewed judgments, yet fundamentally serious. You develop a different kind of “protagonist love” for his way of life, distinct from simple character fascination. You don't often see this kind of protagonist in modern games. That's precisely why this story of Hell, centered around him, might become so addictive the more you play it.
