Hello everyone! Yes, I also have an image of ASCII as a magazine publisher, but I can't remember what kind of magazines they released...... That's me, Saori from Retro Video Game Republic!

What is ASCII?

ASCII operates as a part of ASCII Media Works.
Founded in 1977, the company initially started as ASCII Corporation. In 1986, they published the game magazine “Famicom Tsushin” (later known as Famitsu).
In the gaming software industry, ASCII entered the Famicom software development in 1985 and released famous titles such as “RPG Maker” and “Derby Stallion”.
ASCII successfully expanded its business throughout the 1990s, but in the 2000s, various divisions became subsidiary companies. The business gradually downsized, and ASCII was eventually absorbed into ASCII Media Works in 2008, and later into KADOKAWA in 2013.
So ASCII no longer exists as it was, and its divisions have been merged into KADOKAWA, huh.
I see! That's why I haven't seen the name around lately...... But it seems like they have quite a few masterpieces. There are many titles I've heard of too!
