【BL x Mystery Closed Circle】Incorporating volume-up elements such as implementation of new episodes and CVs for some characters, Switch version & package version of Ooe release decided!

What if a murder case happened on a solitary island with no escape, could you believe the person next to you? “Ooe” introduced this time is a BL mystery horror depicting such spine-chilling situations. The stage is 1955 Japan where war scars remain deeply. On a solitary island in the distant sea where Showa-unique gloomy atmospheres float, scary stories by 9 criminals and 1 detective open their curtains. Moreover, it is not a simple case where finding the culprit alone ends. Sins and secrets held by characters, and intricately intertwined love and hate move stories toward unexpected directions.

The beginning of the story is Ooeshima located further ahead than Tokyo's Hachijojima. Osaki working at a detective agency undertakes a slightly unusual request to attend the second anniversary of the late actress An Ooe impersonating a different person. “Why does a proxy need to fake identity?”, questions float early on, don't they? Arriving at the island, there were figures of attendees gathered yearning for the deceased similarly. While all members were spending calm times crossing differences in status at first, mysterious events occur one after another such as sponsors whose figures no one has seen, or boatmen who do not come to pick up. And the moment servants looking after them were discovered as suspicious corpses, peaceful atmospheres crumble away at once.

Murder cases occurring on solitary islands where going to and from outside is difficult. Naturally, the culprit might be someone present in this place. The moment starting to think so, even casual words or attitudes come to look suspicious, so it is a scary place. Furthermore 2nd and 3rd cases occur, and attendees are swallowed into vortices of paranoia. What is particularly interesting would be the point where reasons why they fear and hate each other are deeply tied to past events. Why were these 10 people gathered on the island? And what is hidden in An Ooe's death? In developments where the more you unravel mysteries new questions are born, you spontaneously come to want to read further ahead.

The reason why “Ooe” cannot be brushed off as a mere deduction game lies in dense human relationships unique to BL works as well. Feelings wanting to believe someone, and fear of possibly being betrayed. The deeper the love, the more intense attachments and hatred lurking there will become. What if there were secrets in partners prayed “I want this person alone to be my ally”... Such dangerous emotional sways precisely are charms of the theme “perverted love betrayed by believed people” advocated by this work. Unique worldviews where fear and romantic feelings mix together seem likely to let you savor tensions slightly different from general horror.

Another feature of this work is fusing classic closed circle devices with Japan-like scenes. Abandoned fishing villages where human presence vanished, isolated lands surrounded by sea, and memorial services mourning the deceased. All are elements reminiscent of Showa weird novels. Contrasts of gorgeous actress lives and ominous presences floating on deserted islands are impressive as well, aren't they? Settings where human true natures become exposed little by little in places with no escape have things irresistible for mystery lovers.

This work handled by ADELTA is a notable work winning the work division at “Doujin Game of the Year 2025”. Furthermore, scheduled to release Nintendo Switch versions in 2026 from game brand “dramatic create”. In porting versions character voices of Hinode are newly implemented, as well as adding new another episodes. Points corresponding to subtitles in 5 languages including Japanese cannot be missed either. Even for people who already know the work, it is content where new discoveries can be expected.

“Ooe” is a unique mystery horror depicting up to human sinfulness and twisted love, in addition to fun chasing the truth of murder cases. Charming stage settings named Showa solitary islands, characters holding secrets, and chaining tragedies. Will detective Osaki really be able to unravel all mysteries? If interested in dense stories unfolded in closed worlds, it is a title wanting attention paid by all means.
